I saved a seagull today! :D

Murdoc: Cooler than you
***I apologize for the long read but it is worth it! :D If you want to know just about the gull, look for the double stars***

The day started with a mental break down. Rough sleep + no chocolate = RAMPAGE! XD Then mother got pissed with me and said "We'll talk about it later." so that left me in a mood all day. Then a second mental break down when my gay cable fried in the middle of one of my favorite mysteries and it was one I've never seen.

After that, at the end of the day, mom got back from a funeral. Her boyfriends aunt died six days ago. She was tired due to my early wake up call... - heh heh ^^;- but she offered to get my sister and I some food. I offered to go with her because I knew I could help her stay up... that and I was a little brat this morning. XD;;

We drove all the way to the far away Swiss Chalet and mom took a wrong turn. We ended up at a different Swiss Chalet but this one had a drive through so I coaxed mom to try it out and see if they had the meal we wanted. For some reason she was unsure. XD We ordered and headed to Wendy's to get Lisa's meal.

**After getting my sisters meal, we started for home when I noticed a seagull with a banged up wing. Mom didn't see it at first and when she looked in the rear view mirror she said it was fine but we were too far to tell by then. I convinced mom to turn around and head back, that's when she noticed how bad it was.

He had to have been hit by a car for his left wing was broken and drooping, immobile. No one but us seemed to care either. People walked by it, making the poor thing hobble away from them out of fear. ;-; Heartless bastards. There was this one couple who sat outside of pizza pizza. They obviously saw me AND the bird and have known about the bird for longer than I did but they were too busy being bored to be of any use.

Giving (a slow as a snail) chase, I managed to get the bird to the back, employees only drive way, where it took shelter in Subways Garbage Garage. He was so scared... but my sisters french fries got him to trust me. That's when a car came in to the driveway. It was the Pizza Pizza Delivery Guy.

He wondered why I was back there until he saw the bird. He spoke with an Indian accent. "Ah yah yah. I seen him before." which made me wonder why he didn't call animal services but it wasn't time for ridicule. I asked if there was a box or something he could bring me for "I have to catch it for Animal Services..."
At first, he wasn't sure but the look of desperation on my face made him go check. Mom called.

"Hello?"
"Hey! Where are you?"
"I'm in the back entrance to Subway/Pizza Pizza. The delivery guy is getting a box. Where the hell are you? I've been looking for you while trying to keep an eye on him."
"I had to get a box! I got a box from the shoe store."
"Okay well come find me. I need you here. He's going to run."
"Alright."

Just as I hung up the Pizza guy returned with one of the plastic veggie crates. I was very surprised at what he brought me. "Oh... wow!" - "Will this be enough?" - "Oh yes! Yes... this is perfect. Thank you!" - "No problem." Then he dashed off. He was still on the clock you know. As soon as he left, mom pulled up. She parked the car right next to the garage, blocking one of his escape roots.

At first we tried to get him to walk in to the box with food but this bird wasn't that stupid so mom sighed, "I'm going to have to use my good towel." I think he understood her for he got really scared and tried to run off. It was like a football match. He ducked, we weaved... God I felt like a quarter back. XD Mom had a near miss with the towel so we both dashed for it. Eventually we caught him crated and headed to the Humane Society Wildlife Center.

The lady was very short. XD I felt like a giant and I'm only 5'7. When we told her the birds condition, she cringed. I could tell by the expression on her face that the birds outlook wasn't that good... or that she was sympathizing with its pain. Either/or...

And... that's it. That's the end. Mom and I filled out a form and went home. When we inquired about being notified of his fate, we were told to call later/tomorrow. :/ My email and moms cell was put on the form, they could call but no matter. We had saved a bird from a gruesome, painful, not to mention very sad death. I'm hoping he can be saved but... I don't know. We knew when we took him in his most likely fate would be euthanasia but we both agreed it was a much better thing to do than to just leave it there or as mom said, "Most people would grab it, twist it's neck and leave it on the side of the road to let whatever else eat it." XD And people wonder as to where I get my morbidity. XDD

The day ended with us lighting Canada Day fireworks. I was the official lighter this time round. Scary stuff when you're the one lighting the bombs. XD
